ADD Centre Brodmann Area Booklet

This booklet, compiled by Michael Thompson, MD, James Thompson, PhD and Wu Wening, MD is a source of information for clinicians who are designing neurofeedback protocols that include connectivity. The proceeds of this purchase go to the Research Foundation. ISNR is grateful to the authors for supporting the Foundation.

After careful evaluation of the research projects submitted for the 2007 year, the research committee has awarded the following studies:

1) Mario Beauregard. "Effects of Neurofeedback Training on Spatiotemporal Patterns of Response Inhibition in AD/HD Children: A Magnetoencephalography Study." $20,000.

2) Bojana Knezevic. "Pilot Project to Ascertain Utility of Tower of London to Assess Outcomes of Neurofeedback in Clients with Asperger's Syndrome." $1,000

3) Robert Coben. "A Randomized Double Blind Placebo Controlled Clinical Trial of Neurofeedback for Autistic Spectrum Disorder."$14,000 for 1st year, with subsequent funding to be considered in 2nd year.

4) Tato Sokhadze. "Neurofeedback and Motivation Enhancement Therapy Based Bio-Behavioral Treatment in Psychoactive Substance Use Disorder (PSUD)" $12,000

Research Funds Awarded Previously

  1. 2004 Grants
  2. 2005 Grants
  3. 2006 Grants
The Research Fund of the International Society for Neurofeedback & Research (ISNR) accepts proposals for funded research in neurotherapy of up to $20,000 per year renewable for up to five years. The deadline for submissions is typically January 1 of each year. The 2008 year is suspended until further notification. Our current funds are allocated for ongoing studies.

Special consideration will be given to proposals that involve large n multi-center studies for randomized controlled trials of a neurotherapy technique for remediation of MTBI, ADHD, PSUD or other conditions for which neurotherapy has been applied.

The proposal may include the means for establishing a neurotherapy practice research network in order to complete its objectives. Fundable elements of the proposal may include monetary incentives for practitioners and client participants and salary for the Principal Investigator, who will be project coordinator. Continued funding year to year will be contingent on project performance and the success of ISNR in continuing fundraising. If the successful applicant is not a member of ISNR, the applicant will agree to accept complementary membership for the duration of the grant.

3- Multi-site Brain Injury Study: This study nears completion. Updates to follow.

Joseph J. Horvat, PhD and Jonathan E Walker, MD are actively recruiting clinicians to participate in this important study - reimbursement for patient services and equipment will be provided.

4- Student Scholarships (Annual ISNR Conference)

For several years the annual ISNR Conference has awarded scholarships to graduate and undergraduate students who present their scientific research at the conference. Often these have been thesis and dissertation related studies of excellent scientific quality. Refer to the annual conference pages for each new year for the most current information about awards and requirements.
